Learning is fundamental, but not always easy.
We help find the right strategies to maximize learning & success through a person centered approach.
More Than Social Skills
Developing foundation skills and beyond
Our module-based program targets skills across six different areas of development, such as joint attention, greetings, social play, self-awareness, conversations, perspective taking, and critical thinking. Although the core emphasis of our social groups is to teach our learners to interact socially with their peers, the modules allow us to target these skills on an individual level, while still working within a group environment.
Our groups will be navigating through the program with different activities that incorporate skills needed to master each module. As the learners progress through the modules, the skills will become increasingly advanced. The goal is for each learner to successfully complete all modules and maintain acquired social skills throughout the duration of the group.
How are our classes different?
Year-round classes with placement by skill level
Individualized goals for each child
Opportunities for generalization through community outings & whole group events
Parent meetings included to give parents an opportunity to learn more about the program, ask questions & learn how to better carry over skills outside the group
Learning doesn’t need to stop at the school bell. Offering ABA-based after-school programming for tweens & teens.
We go far beyond a typical after-school program. We actively seek out community engagement, volunteer and vocational opportunities.
Each student receives weekly mentoring sessions as part of their enrollment. Additional 1:1 in-home and community based mentoring available.
Offering teens a uniquely unified approach to sustainable independence.
With the insight of staff and input of family, each student will take an active role in creating a set of goals driven by their own strengths, needs and interests. Through the careful coordination of structured group learning, community exploration and mentoring, each student will be provided with the support and opportunity to achieve those goals and create the foundation for independent adulthood.

Founded in 2010 by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and mother of a child with autism, Innovative Autism Services has fast become one of the leading providers for ABA therapy and related programs in Connecticut. We help people with autism develop foundational skills that allow them to be successful in their daily lives at home, school, work and in their communities. Our services focus on providing a dynamic model that allows us to implement programs specifically for the person. These programs are not “static” and evolve with the person’s needs. Being a provider for children, teens and adults allows us to offer a unique therapy setting and learning opportunities not often found with other providers.
Our services range from intensive direct therapies to teen programming, adult mentoring, and year-round social skills curriculum, but to be successful we believe that a provider needs to go beyond. We pride ourselves on developing partnerships within our community that directly benefit our clients and their families. Partnerships with organizations such as Wheeler YMCA, Oak Hill’s Chapter 126 and Children’s Advancement Fund to name a few allow us to take our services beyond the therapy room as well as offer financial assistance for some services. Relationships like these, coupled with coordination with other providers, family supports, and our highly trained staff allow Innovative Autism Services to provide the most individualized and dynamic programs for people on the spectrum.
